What should be the qualifications for someone to teach Indians about American culture for business relations?

My Indian friend may be starting a business with offices in India and America. He wants Indians to educate Americans on the culture, and Americans to educate Indians on the culture, to establish good relations in the company. He seems to think I would be perfect for this job. I'd love to be able to do it, but I just don't think I have the qualifications. I have a degree in education, and another in Religious Studies. I love cultures and study them all the time. But I've never worked in a big company and so I don't know anything about business relations in general. What would I have to do to become really qualified for this?

  1. That is an awesome idea. I would suggest looking to some of the companies that already are doing these things - - many times, if a company knows you are serious and that you are willing to seek out information from them, they will talk with you about how their system works. You may have to jump through hoops to get to someone to talk with you, but it might be worth the jump. I would also check with the university you graduated from and the universities in your area - they may have a program that you could get a Master's in on your own time in a foreign relations or adult education field. There are many, many books available at your library on corporate relations - I would also check that out. Leave no stone unturned..... Be Blessed.
  2. If you already have a degree in education, you should already be well versed in American history and the constitution. I would spend some time studying Native American history. American culture is extremely diverse because its made up of every culture on earth. Purchase a few good reference books on American culture, bring your lap top to access on line references........And away you go....to India {smile}
