What reaction would you have if the San Diego Padres won the World Series?

It would be great that a consistent team finally won the World Series. I really think the Padres are a great team with talent.

  1. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.................
  2. Jubiliation. And I feel you on he Padres being a great team with talent. But if the Cubs won the world series I'd have a heart attack. LOL.
  3. I'd be shocked, they're not even the best team in their own division.
  4. I'd be "way to go Padres" and leave it at that. I don't think they will, but if they did, that would be cool, I am a baseball fan, not a fan of a single team.
  5. I would offer my congrats to the San Diego Padres & say job well done.
  6. Both "good for them!" and "about time."
  7. I think it would be great. I think it's good for the game when the championships are spread around the league. The Padres, Rangers, Rays, Nationals, Astros or Rockies winning it all finally would be great. The Padres have a good thing going. They have one of the best ballparks in the country and a great pitching staff...
  8. If they beat the Red Sox, I'd be disappointed. Other than that though, I wouldn't be overly excited or saddened by a Padre World Series win. You never know, maybe it will happen. They've got some good pitching.
  9. I wouldn't mind, as long as they waited until next year. With this being the last year of Yankee Stadium, I want it to go out with a title. But it would be nice for a city that's never won a World Championship to finally win one -- the 1963 Chargers don't count, it was just an AFL title.
  10. I would probably not care much at all. Except for the fact that my team did not win, that would bum me out. But I would be happy that a few select teams did not win again, so then again, as long as it was not against my team, I guess I would be pretty happy.
  11. Amazement.
  12. It wouldn't surprise me. They are a good team and it could happen. But I'd prefer to see the Cardinals win another one. :)
  13. It's about time,but I don't see it happenning this year.
  14. I would be glad that the National League won, laugh at anyone who said/wrote how great the American League is and how the NL's best team isn't better than the 6th best AL team. Then I would hope the Cubs win it next season and move my attention to football.
  15. They could have a devastating starting rotation. I mean, Peavy and Chris Young should say enough about them, but if Mark Prior returns to the "03 Mark Prior," that might blow away any rotation in baseball. It just could happen, because Petco Park is a pitcher friendly park, more favorable for righties. Even if he doesn't do well, they're only paying him one million. They'll definetly compete for the division, and possibly the world series if they get a few breaks on offense.
  16. That entire division is going to be competitive. Each team in the division has a number of "ifs", so it will depend upon how things shake out. Right now, I like the Rockies. I think two kids of theirs, Morales and Jimenez, are going to step up this season and give them the rotation they need to complement their powerful offense, which is by far the best in the division. So to answer your' question: I'd be totally shocked if the Pads won the WS; I don't really like their chances at making the post season.
  17. If happen- "What? When this happen"
  18. i'd be mad
  19. It would not mean anything to me one way or another UNLESS they beat the Yankees, the Red Sox or the Indians. If they beat the Yankees or Red Sox, I would be ecstatic. If they beat the Indians, I would hate them for that because IMO there is no team like the Cleveland Indians.
  20. I would give the team credit. I would tip my Yankee cap to them.
  21. I'd be dumbfounded if the madres won. You have no outfield, but an aged Brian Giles. No catcher, no second baseman, a washed up 40 year old closer who blew 7 or 8 saves last year and helped to blow the playoffs by giving up the tying hit to Tony Gwynn Jr. which would have clinched a wild card spot. Peavy, Kousmanoff, Adrian G, and K Green are your only solid players. Maddux is getting old and Chris Young is overrated no matter what any one says or stats they throw out. I laugh at injury plagued Prior and Wolf. Bud Black is a terrible manager. I mean who tackles their own players? They have NO chance against the pitching and young talent of the Dodgers, Rockies, and D'Backs in that division. San Diego and all their sports teams just plain suck...period!
  22. How did they do that without any offense?
  23. I agree that it would be awesome to see the Padres win a series. Like you said they've been very consistent over the years and it's been a while since they've made it to the World Series, and if they had any kind of offense to go with their pitching it wouldn't be that hard. I also would like the fact that a team that builds off it's own prospects and good trades wins, as opposed to the teams who buy their talent and just add on to it season after season with salary caps quadrupled the size of other teams(Red Sox, Yankees, Cubs).
  24. You think right!!!! haha, I seriously, would be crying soooo much, of course, theyre tears of joy, if they won the WS I wouldnt need a birthday OR Chrismas present for years!!! It would make my life complete!!! You have no idea how INCREDIBLY happy I would be. It seriously would mean the world to me!!!!! Main point: I'd be overflood in joys of tears for weeks (;
  25. I would think about time. They have great talent but no money to keep them.
  26. suprise, they are a good team, but not that good
  27. I would be thrilled to see a team win their first championship. That's why I really pulled for the Rockies this year
